Georgia Marguerite (Tingley) Herman, 83, of Whitefield, New Hampshire died Saturday September, 19 2015 at home surround by family. Georgia was born on July 17th, 1931 in Attleboro, MA. Her Parents were Susie Allicen Furlong and Eldon Leroy Tingley. She grew up in the town of Foster, RI, where she met and married Robert Austin Herman on July 2, 1954 at the Line Baptist Church. She graduated from Killingly High School in Danielson, CT. and The Worcester Memorial Hospital School of Nursing is Worcester, MA. Later she completed a supervisors post-graduate program in pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital in Washington, D.C. She employed over the years as a registered nurse in Meriden, CT, Castel Air Force Base in Merced, California, Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, CT, The Morton Hospital in Taunton, MA, and the Lakeville Rehabilitation Hospital in Lakeville, MA. She later received her Bachelor of Science in Education from the Bridgewater State College in Bridgewater, MA and completed her years of employment as the Staff Development Instructor at the Lakeville Rehabilitation Hospital until her retirement in 1992. Georgia and Bob made their home in Lakeville, MA where they raised their family until 1999 when they moved to Whitefield, NH. She was a member of the Whitefield Community Baptist Church and The Ladies Circle. She loved sewing, quilting, knitting, cooking, painting and other crafts. Her greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her beloved husband Bob and 5 children. Margaret, wife of Paul Caron of Lakeville, MA, Kathryn, wife of Joseph Moreira of New Bedford, MA, Lisa wife of Wayne Mello of Oxford, MA, Robert L. Herman of Andover, MA and Susan, wife of William Tivey of East Freetown, MA 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by three sisters: Joy Kolek of Sterling, CT. Laura Griffiths of Danielson and Patricia Beausoleil of California.

 

Visiting hours will be at Ross Funeral Home, Whitefield Chapel on Tuesday September 22, from 2-4 and 6-8PM. There will be a Celebration of Georgia's Life on Wednesday September 23, at 11AM at the same location.
