Ellen Leavitt, 70, of Bethlehem, NH, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016 at Littleton Regional Hospital after a brief illness.

Ellen was born on October 24, 1946 in Woodsville, NH to the late Robert and Rita Locklin. She worked at Hitchiner Manufacturing until her retirement in 2008 after over 20 years of service. On September 29, 1963, she married Donald M. Leavitt of Lyman, NH, and they celebrated 53 years of marriage. Following their retirement, Donald and Ellen spent time traveling and enjoying life.

She is survived by her husband Donald, of Bethlehem, NH, a son Don Leavitt and wife Linda, of Lisbon, NH, a daughter Debra Birmingham and husband Hugh, of Falmouth, MA, two loving granddaughters Bridget Birmingham and Hannah Birmingham, of Falmouth, MA, sister, Sharon Hugate and husband Bubba, of North, VA, brothers, Jim Locklin and wife Joan of Vasselboro, ME, Tom Locklin and wife Barbara, of Hayes, VA, brother-in-law Tim Hallameyer, of Rochester, NH, sister-in-law, Sandra Ash of Lisbon, NH, brother-in-laws, Ronnie Leavitt and wife Carol, of Lyman, NH, David Leavitt and wife Cheryl, of Littleton, NH, Larry Leavitt and wife Linda, of Littleton, NH, Richard and wife Mary, of Wells River, VT, Roger Leavitt and wife Sheila, of Littleton, NH, sister-in-laws Donna Leavitt and Brenda Leavitt of Lisbon, NH, along with many nieces and nephews.

Ellen was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Rita Locklin, sisters Rita Hallameyer and Karen Stout, and brother David Locklin.

Ellen is remembered for her love of life and enjoyment of time spent with family and friends.
