How saddened I was to learn from a friend of Aunt Nona's death. Unfortunately it wasn't in time to attend her service. On behalf of my family, please accept our condolences. My mother, Celenia, loved her sister dearly and cherished her memories. It was fulfilling for me to get these two women, along with Aunt Hazel, together as often as I could help. When Mom was still driving, she and Aunt Hazel would go to Whitefield and spend long weekends. Their times driving around, going out to lunch and playing cards were bonding experiences for them. A last great memory I have was when my sisters, Becky and Barbara, and Mom and I came to Whitefield and met Aunt Nona, Shirley and Joe. We all piled into Joes' van and went to lunch somewhere. Then we took the sightseeing tour of where the girls grew up and other places that had meaning to them. Oh how they reminisced and we soaked it up, laughing along with them, eager to hear stories of old. I'm sorry that Aunt Hazel wasn't there and now there won't be this option since she is the last matriarch standing. To Aunt Nona's family, please know you're in our thoughts. She loved all of you so much...that was obvious by the number of photos she kept in her apartment. Treasure the memories you have of her as you will want to draw on these for moments of strength and to look back on.

I just read in the paper this morning where she passed away. I am so sorry I can remember the times we had when I used to sit on the front porch with her and all of you, she was a very kind woman. My sympathies goes out to all of you and I will never forget her
