I was privileged to journey with Sr. Lydia during her final years at Holy Cross Health Center. She received loving and tender care. Having taught side by side for many years, we shared many stories of our past experiences. Sr. Lydia was a lady of a "few words" but when she spoke we knew she "meant business".
Her silent witness and cheerful disposition in her final years touched the lives of many. I marveled at her peace filled presence. Bedridden 95% of the time, she managed to remain calm and waited for services to be rendered and needs met.
Just this past Saturday she told me she was not ready to "kick the bucket" but God had other plans and she fell asleep peacefully and is now free, free at last.
Rest in peace Lydia. God loves you and so do I.
