Chester Earl West, “Chet”, 76, North Woodstock, died peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, on Thursday, March 19, 2015. He was born in Parsonsfield, ME to Elizabeth (Weeks) and Maurice West in 1938.
Chet joined the US Marine Reserves during high school, then spent 2 more years in the US Marines, followed by 20 years in the US Air Force, From which he retired as a TSGT of the Military Police. He continued police work in NH until his move to Ocala, Fl in 1986, where he worked until his second retirement from Marion Correctional Institute in 1999. Shortly thereafter, he returned to NH. He enjoyed barbecuing, fishing, puttering around the house and walking his dog Bubba.
Chet is survived by his two daughters, Christina Bilodeau of Berlin, NH, Kimberly DiMare of Ocala, FL, a brother, Jerrold West of North Woodstock, grandchildren, Alexis DiMare and Christopher DiMare of Ocala, FL, Garrick Bilodeau, Liam Bilodeau, and Norris Bilodeau of Berlin, NH, one great-grandson, nieces, Kimberlee and Kelley, nephew Chester Maurice, and his dog Bubba.
