Vera Winget Obituary

Vera M. Winget, Dalton, NH, died on Friday, February 12, after a long battle with cancer and other health issues. She was born in Hartland, VT, April 1, 1933, the daughter of Lloyd and Bessie (Shute) Leach. She worked as a waitress, as a factory worker at shoe shops and took in foster children. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, crocheting, sewing and especially loved her animals. She was predeceased by her husband Charles Winget, a sister Lucille (Leach) Rowe, brothers Donald “Sam” Leach, Frank “Sonny” Hook and Kenneth Hook.

Vera is survived by her sister Elsina Winchester, Dalton, NH, a brother Doug Leach, Maine, Foster son Mickie and wife Sue Bouffard, Littleton, NH, a Foster daughter Linda Houle, Maine, a cousin Ann Marie (Reidy) Alphonso, Harland, VT, several nieces and nephews. She had two special people in her life, Robert Hook, Dalton, NH, and Julie Tetrault, Littleton, NH.

Burial will be held in the spring at the Cushman Cemetery, Dalton, NH.
