Thomas E. Norcott

Thomas E. Norcott, 52, passed away April 19th. He was a resident of Franconia, NH, and Whitman, MA. He was the beloved son of William E. and Kathleen (Farrar) Norcott of Rockland, formerly of Whitman. Tom was a 1986 graduate of Whitman Hanson. He was an active member of Local 103 IBEW in Boston. He proudly served his country during Operation Desert Storm as part of the Whitman National Guard Unit the 181 Combat Support Engineers. He is already missed by his WH classmates and 181 brothers. One of Tom’s proudest accomplishments was being part of the Adaptive Sports Partners of the North Country, Franconia NH. He could be found volunteering through year-round sports, but his favorite was the tandemski. He worked for 2 years on Sundays at Clark’s Trading Post as Wolfman Tank and was able to scare many of his friends’ kids for fun. Tom found a home in Franconia and North Country. He thrived and made many friends who became his second family. He was beloved by all and could be found at the local bar singing Karaoke. Tom was dynamic, larger than life. He was always the funniest person in the room and could make any story hilarious. But more than that, he was a loyal loving friend, always checking on his friends. He had the best laugh and had many characters and voices that would make you belly laugh.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother William Norcott and his wife Susan (Peterson), his sister Christine (Norcott), and her husband Peter Brown, and his sister Hollie (Perkins) Sarafian. His nieces and nephews Kara (Norcott) and Peter Burke, Michael Norcott, Patrick, Ryan, and Timothy Brown, and Jacob and Zoe Sarafian. He was referred to at times as “uncle buck” because of the crazy antics he enjoyed with them. He will be deeply missed by all. Tom was also survived by his close friends and extended family, too many to name.

A celebration of life is being planned in Franconia at Cannon Mountain and in Whitman at the VFW. Tom would want a celebration and a roast/toast to his life, and we will give that to him when this social distancing is done so we can give him a celebration he deserves for a life well-lived. Please designate it is in Toms memory. We are hoping to purchase a new tandemski in Tom’s name.
