Roy Leslie Ramsdell Jr.

TWIN MOUNTAIN – Roy Leslie Ramsdell, Jr., 76, passed away on January 28, 2021 at his home in Twin Mountain, NH. He was born February 18, 1944 to the late Roy and Rosabelle Ramsdell in Lubec, ME.

Roy graduated technical school and went on to become plant manager for R & K Precision in Middleton, MA for 27 years. After building his dream home in Twin Mt., NH, he and his wife, Jan, began their own contracting company. Ram Contracting built some of the finest homes in the North Country, of which he was extremely proud. Roy served as a volunteer firefighter for the Twin Mountain Fire Department and eventually became Captain. He also worked as an Emergency Medical Technician for many years. In 2001 he was presented with the EMT of the year award.

Roy finally retired 11 years ago. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson all around New England. From picking up sweet corn in Monroe to foraging for the best lobster rolls in Maine, Roy loved to ride. He could often be found at home puttering around in his yard or garage. He enjoyed raising chickens and providing eggs to anyone who wanted them. He was most happy relaxing on his deck with afternoon cocktails and a blazing fire (even when it was 90 degrees).

Roy will be remembered as a kind, caring husband, brother, father, and friend. He fiercely provided for and protected those that he loved—even the numerous cats that he owned throughout his lifetime—especially his cat Treasure (jokingly referred to as his side chick).

Roy is survived by his wife Jan; daughters Dawn Ramsdell and Leslie Ramsdell; sisters-in-law Sandy Rubchinuk and husband Leon; Jeanne Blais and fiancé Donald; a sister Nadine Mckie and husband George, a brother Kim Ramsdell and wife Peggy, best friend and neighbor Dale Mottrim; as well as many friends, nieces, and nephews.

There will be a calling hour held on Saturday, February 6, from 2-3PM, at the Ross Funeral Home, Littleton Chapel. Masks and social distancing are required for the attendance at calling hours. A committal service will take place at Straw Cemetery, Twin Mountain, on Saturday May 8th, 10:00AM.
