Robert W. “Butch” Thompson, 78 of Littleton, passed peacefully at his home of 50 years on Monday, September 11 with his loving wife of 56 years Paula by his side. Butch was born in Littleton on November 29, 1944. The son of Wallace and Lillian (Hunt) Thompson, he attended Littleton High School and was a graduate of the class of 1963. He proudly served in the Army National Guard for six years. Butch and Paula (Carbonneau) were married July 1, 1967, at St Rose of Lima Catholic Church where they are both parishioners. An electrician by trade, Butch’s local claim to fame was sales manager of 42 years at Pilgrim’s Furniture. Avid sportsman from birth, Butch’s passion for deer hunting, trout, and ice fishing, was unparalleled teaching Hunters’ Safety Education for the NH Fish and Game Dept for years. Tall Timber Pittsburg his Haven. Woman’s Rec softball coach. Quiet calligraphy artist. Amazing friend to all he knew-Butch never met a stranger. Predeceased by both he and Paula’s parents. First-born son Heath David Thompson. Best friend and kid brother Stephen Thompson. Sister in-law Margaret Pilgrim. Brother in-law Charles Estey. Niece Jessica Thompson. Nephew Michael Estey.
Butch is survived by his loving wife Paula of Littleton. Daughter Patti Thompson and partner Tony Guyotte, New Hampton, NH. Son Jeremy and wife Debbie Thompson, Mooresville, NC. Grandchildren Traylor Heath & Weston Robert Thompson Mooresville, NC. Sister Carole Estey of Windham, NH. Along w multiple loving nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 20, 2023, 11:00, at St. Rose of Lima Church with Father Ryan Amazeen officiating. A Celebration of Life reception to follow in the church hall.
