Philemon Alphonse LaPlante, 72, of Littleton passed away on December 31st, 2021 with his son, Douglas LaPlante, and daughter Abbie Christie by his side after a two-year battle with cancer. Phil was born in Webster, MA to parents David and Martina LaPlante. He graduated from Webster High School and attended New Hampshire College where he was a member of Kappa Delta Phi. Phil worked many years in the insurance industry and most recently as a financial service provider for Laconia Savings Bank. He retired as a shuttle bus driver, and primarily a teller of “dad jokes”, for the Mount Washington resort. Phil was especially fond of golfing with his life partner Shirley at Sunset Golf Course in Sugar Hill. Phil taught Shirley to golf, and in exchange, Shirley taught Phil how to paint. He painted on a regular basis and was gracious with gifting his work to those he loved.
Phil leaves behind his life partner Shirley Smith and beloved family members; son, Douglas LaPlante, daughter, Abbie Christie, siblings David Laplante, Eileen Gedraitis, Martina Koziak, Denise Koszewski, several nieces and nephews. His family will miss his jokes, magic tricks, and his fun-loving personality.
A friends and family gathering will take place on Tuesday, January 11th from 1-2 pm at the Ross Funeral Home, Littleton Chapel, with a Celebration of Life to follow at 2 pm. Memorial donations may be made in Phil’s memory to Littleton Regional Healthcare, 600 St. Johnsbury Road, Littleton, NH 03561 https://littletonhealthcare.org/donate.php
