Peter G. Packard 66 of Whitefield died Tuesday, January 25, 2022, after a brief illness.
He was born May 7, 1955, the son of Clare & Marion Packard. A devoted family man, loving husband, father, and Grandpa. He leaves behind his wife of 43 years Susan Packard, four children, Stephanie Irwin and husband Charles, Kristi Mullikin, and husband Joseph, Joshua Packard, and Nicholas Packard and wife Ashley. Seven grandchildren, Dakota, Ivy, Alexis, Ella, Spencer, Faith, and Landon. One great-granddaughter Josie. Two sisters. He was predeceased by his parents and brother Charles.
He was an avid snowmobiler and in his youth a snowmobile mechanic. Attended the Rodco Snowmobile Engine School at the age of 16 and worked throughout high school at the CAT Shack for Rodney & Nancy Rexford. He was a 1973 graduate of WMRHS. At the age of 18 began his lifelong career as a truck driver. In 1982 he began driving for Currier Trucking Co. where he stayed for 18 years. For the last 21 years, he has driven for McClure’s Honey & Maple.
He was a member of the Dalton Ridge Runner snowmobile club since its inception in 2003 and he served as trail master for many years. He spent most free time in his shop perfecting his woodworking craft – from rough-in to finish carpentry, whether it was a home project, furniture, a kayak, or a ninja warrior warped wall. He often said, “I’m a jack of all trades and master at none”.
A celebration of life for family and closest friends will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at his home in Whitefield from 1 pm to 4 pm.
