Oliver G. White, III
April 2, 1951 – January 25, 2022 (70)
Oliver Grove White, III (“Lee”), of Whitefield, NH, died on the evening of January 25,
2022 after an extended illness. Predeceasing him on December 24, 2021, was the love
of his life, Cindy Lou (Drake) Couturier. After graduation from Central College, in Pella,
Iowa, Lee made a career in the restaurant and hospitality industry, having managed a
number of restaurants as well as serving as a chef at several resorts in Northern New
Hampshire before his retirement.
Lee was a man with many interests and loved working with the public and trying to
make people laugh. He was a collector of art and had a special interest in antique
decoys admiring the collection his father had given him. He enjoyed Cindy’s company
and artwork. He loved cooking, Cape Cod, and the internet. He enjoyed the company of
Cindy and her family, notably her twin sister Cynthia. He loved Cindy’s grandchildren
and took great pleasure in watching horror and ghost movies with them and telling them
interesting facts that they would not necessarily learn in school. Lee was a generous
and kind man and will be greatly missed.
Lee was the second of four sons of Oliver G. White, Jr. and Mary Maxine White, of
Kensington, NH after having moved from Syracuse, NY. Lee is survived by his three
brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard A. and Becky Forster, of Fancy Gap, VA, Dr.
Gregory V White and Lois A Carey, of Wolfeboro, NH, and Kevin M and Carol White, of
Charlottesville, VA as well as Cindy’s three children – Allison Couturier and Charles
Correll of Whitefield, NH, Joseph and Karen (Couturier) Bolduc of Dalton, NH, and
Patrick and Sarah (Armes) Couturier of Franconia, NH, and her seven grandchildren.
There will be private family gatherings to celebrate his life according to his wishes.
