Maurice P. Pelotte 75, Littleton, NH passed away at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center on Sunday, February 8, 2026, with his family by his side.
Maurice was born to Clifford Pelotte & Gertrude (Wells) Pelotte on November 6, 1950 in Dalton, New Hampshire. He served in the New Hampshire Army National Guard from 1969-1977 and worked at the Gilman, Vermont paper mill for 34 years until the mill closed, and then Hitchner Mfg. until his retirement. He attended the Whitefield School and went on to get his GED in his adult years.
Maurice loved being at home, working on projects around his house and tending to the animals. You could always find him doing home improvement projects or fixing his equipment. He had an excellent memory and loved to tell stories. He enjoyed his friendships with his coworkers from the mill and would often talk about the good times he had with them. Maurice married Deveda Layton on August 14, 1971 and they had two children, Chad and Christina. They lived in Dalton until 1991 when they moved to Littleton and have resided there since. He was predeceased by his parents Clifford and Gertrude Pelotte, and a brother Kenneth Pelotte as well as animals they owned throughout the years.
Maurice is survived by his wife Deveda, son Chad (Lisa) Pelotte, Bethlehem, daughter Christina (Albert) Morancie, Whitefield, three grandchildren, Bethany Pelotte, Bethlehem, Brodie (Katelyn) Morancie, Columbus GA, Brandon Morancie, Great Lakes, IL, and a great-granddaughter Savannah Morancie, Columbus GA, as well as his sister Linda (Earl) Henry, Dalton, NH, sister Penny Pelotte, Landaff, NH, sister in law Ann Pelotte, Guildhall, VT, sister in law Diane Layton, St. Johnsbury VT, sister in law Charliene (Jeffrey) Gomes, Monroe, NH, many nieces and nephews as well as other relatives. He also leaves behind his beloved dogs Hawke and Rebel, his cat Rio and two ponies Holly and Callie.
He will be missed by everyone who knew him. Per his request, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
