Margaret “Margo” Mattison of Lancaster, NH, died peacefully on January 13 at Lafayette Healthcare Center in Franconia, NH, due to complications from a lingering illness. She was 74. The daughter of Graham D. Mattison and Margaret R. Nicholas, she was born and raised in New York City where she attended the Chapin School and graduated from the Kent School and Gordon College. She later studied music at the Longy School in Cambridge, MA. Margaret lived and worked in Boston and Vermont before moving to New Hampshire and settling in Lancaster. She is remembered for her sensitivity, refined taste and impeccable organization. She particularly loved dogs, baking and music. Margaret enjoyed living in Lancaster for its community and the kindness of its residents.
She is survived by three sisters and a brother and was predeceased by her eldest brother Mark Mattison. She was devoted to her nephew Graham O. Mattison who cared for her in her declining years.
