Linda King Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we must say good-bye to Linda King, 74 of Littleton, NH, who found everlasting peace on June 3, 2021 after a long-term illness.

Born Linda Sue Lawson on March 6,1947 in Newport Center, VT, she spent much of her childhood “playing with the boys” and reading books. She often told stories of staying at “Grammy’s house” during spring and summer vacations from school.

She met Stew King while working at Price Mart in Littleton. They quickly hit it off and were married in the Price Mart. She said her manager “gave her away” that day.

Linda had a variety of jobs during her lifetime. She worked retail, worked in a hotel, the Littleton coin company, and even worked with Stew delivering newspapers. Her travels extended from coast to coast by various forms of transportation. She even moved her kids across the country to California on the train!

After Stew passed in October of 2010, she was “done moving” and decided to stay on “her little hill” in Littleton. She still enjoyed reading, her favorites included The Stand by Steven King, the Clan of the Cave Bear series By Jean M. Auel, and steamy romance novels. She also crocheted. A LOT! She made several blankets, pillows, and various clothing items and “Grammy originals” for the kids. There wasn’t much she couldn’t make when it came to yarn. She also loved to spend time with her family and friends. She always made sure her house was a safe space to just let your guard down for a few and relax.

She is survived by her sister Constance Lawson of VT, her sister Sally of PA. Her Children James Santaw Sr. (wife JoAnn) of Landaff, NH, Tracy Santaw (fiancé Eddie) of Claremont, NH, and Steven Santaw (wife Amanda) of Claremont, NH. Her grandchildren Michael (girlfriend Jessica), JJ, Nicole (husband David), Connie (husband Jameson), Tae, Monica, Jamie (girlfriend Trisha), Jocelyn, Astrid, Viktor, and a generous amount great-grandchildren.

There will be a Celebration of Life on July 31, 2021 in Lunenburg, VT. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to make a donation in her name to your favorite charity or plant a lilac bush in her honor. Linda’s favorite charity was Vet to Vet in Littleton NH.

“Tomorrow Never Came...” By Steven Santaw

This is my mom, Linda Sue.

March 6th 1947 to her rest on June 3rd 2021.

There isn't a way to make losing a parent easier on a child. I’m 44 years ok crying like a 6-year-old. I didn't get to do the things I should have before the time was cut short, expectedly unexpected...

She was a friend, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a mother, grandmother, and a great-grandmother. She was great

I love you mom, rest easy.... I will see you
