Laurie Landis MacGregor, passed away at her home in Lisbon, NH, on September 27 after a long struggle with cancer,. She was born in Hartford, CT, October 27, 1949, daughter to Robert & Mary Jane (Landis) MacGregor.
Laurie graduated Conard HS in 1967, attended Keuka College in NY and later received her Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy at Virginia Commonwealth University. She worked as an OT in Rhode Island before moving to Littleton NH where she was a co-owner of the Edencroft Inn in Littleton, NH with her first husband, Bill Walsh, and another couple.
After the Edencroft, Laurie returned to Occupational Therapy and opened Adaptive Therapeutics in Groveton NH where she worked through 1997. In 1998 she and her husband opened Practical Images, a graphics design and web development company. She was a creative artist with a talent for wood etchings and enjoyed MC Escher drawings. She was also an active traveler and spent many vacations exploring the Mayan ruins in the Yucatan and snorkeling throughout the Caribbean.
In 2009 she and her husband moved to Lisbon, NH where they had designed and built their own home. Laurie was an avid gardener and had a love of animals including her many “fur babies”, over the years. She continued working as a home care companion after retirement from OT because she loved helping people. She enjoyed nature and was happiest reading a book, with her cat Portia cuddled next to her overlooking the pond in her quiet NH home.
