Larry Edward Elliott, 88, Littleton, died on July 18, 2025, after a brief illness at the McClure Miller Respite House, Colchester, VT, with family by his side. He was born in Benton, NH, July 27, 1936, the son of Benjamin L. and Helen (Cheney) Elliott.
He went through 8th grade and had to leave to work to help the family. Military: Larry served with the United States Navy from November 3rd, 1954, thru October 31st, 1958, and mainly on the U.S.S Worcester CL-144 in Pacific Ocean. He ended his Service on the U.S.S Toledo CA-113. Larry was an avid gardener and enjoyed fishing. He enjoyed watching old Spaghetti Western shows on TV and chatting with people. In His younger days his loved playing cards and loved snowmobiling at the Rocks Estate in Bethlehem NH, He treasured his time with his three Children Donna, Debbie, and Larry Jr and his grandchildren Joseph and Abiigal, and his fur grandchild Layla. Larry loved to tinker on lawnmowers and small engines at Bob and Chan’s Garage. He worked for 34 years for the NH Highway Department at Butterhill in Franconia NH. He took pride in his work and his abilities to handle a double blade plow highway truck # H 427.
Larry is predeceased by his Wife Rena (Charland) Elliott who passed in 2022 after 62 years of marriage, and predeceased by his daughter Baby Marie, and Son Larry Jr who passed in January 20th, 2025, Larry is predeceased by his parents Benjamin and Helen Elliott Sr, a sister Virginia, and 4 brothers, Skip, Ike, David, and Ralph.
Larry is survived by his daughter Donna and her husband Jon Blackey and their two children Joseph and Abigail, and by his daughter Debbie and her husband Harold Aldrich. Larry is survived by his sister Jane (Elliott) Lucas and her husband Willard Lucas and their two children, by his brother Keith Elliott and his three children, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, Aunts, Uncles, and sister and brother In-Laws. One of his great wishes was to always help rescue cats. He had a many in his life and the last two were very special. Miggie and Minnie Pearl.
A graveside service will be held at the Glenwood Cemetery, Saturday, August 9, 11:00, officiated by Reverend Lyn Winter followed by Military Honors. Memorial donations may be made in Larry’s memory to Second Chance Animal Rescue, 1517 Meadow Street, Littleton, NH 03561
