John R. Skinner, 62, of Waterford, Vermont, passed away Wednesday morning, June 4th 2025 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, surrounded by loved ones. John was born in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, on February 2nd 1963, the son of Richard and Eunice (Hooker) Skinner.
John grew up on a farm in Lunenberg Vermont, he graduated from White Mountain Regional High School class of 1981. He was a hard working and compassionate man, willing to drop everything to assist someone in need. Whenever you had an issue, he was usually the first name that came to mind because he always seemed to have an answer.
He cherished time outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish, trap, go four wheeling, watch sporting events, go camping, you name it he was there. He spent a lot of time in his earlier years fishing up in Alaska during the salmon run. He would talk about his time out there quite often. Hunting season was a special time of the year for him. He would always be the first one ready to go, and the last one out of the woods. He loved hunting with his two sons, and his brother Michael and his boys.
Every year around the 4th of July he was either camping or having a BBQ. He really enjoyed going out an getting an arrangement of fireworks for everyone to watch and take part in setting them off.
His greatest joy in life was spending time with his three boys Brandon, John and Scrappy Skinner and his daughter Christine Riendeau. He loved his children with every ounce of his being, he would show up to every sports game, concert, graduation, or any other event or milestone in their life. He did everything he could to make sure his children knew that he was willing to make any accommodations necessary to be present. He was predeceased by his parents.
John is survived by his two sons John Skinner and Brandon Skinner and his daughter Christine Riendeau and her husband Marc.
The celebration of life will be announced on a later date. No public service is scheduled.
