John Giddings

WHITEFIELD:

John Irving Giddings, 76, of Whitefield, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully Friday, December 20, 2019, after a long battle with cancer. Known as Jack, he was born July 20, 1943, in Concord, New Hampshire to the late John and Shirley (Perkins) Giddings. Jack was a devoted husband and father. Jack worked hard and loved to spend time with his grandchildren Xavier, Trés, and Aubree. He loved to hunt and fish and was a great friend to many. Early on he served in the army and was stationed in Germany where he was a sharpshooter. After returning home from the military, he worked for many years as a carpenter. He was a skilled craftsman and was always willing to lend a hand to any projects. Later on, Jack worked at Norton Pike up until they closed in 2007. Most recently, Jack had been employed part-time by Home Depot in Littleton, NH. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Shirley (Perkins) Giddings; his first wife, June Lena (Coburn) Giddings in 1988; and his second wife, Joyce Louise (Knight) Giddings in 2011.

He is survived by his sons, John I. Giddings of North Haverhill, NH and Joseph W. Giddings and wife, Clanci of Waterford, VT, his grandchildren, Jonn Dukette, Christopher-John Giddings, Xavier Giddings, John “Trés“ Giddings III, and Aubree Giddings, his younger siblings Joseph C. Giddings and wife, Alicia of Salisbury, NC, Judith Crowley of Boscawen, NH and Patricia Arbour and husband, Brian of Loudon, NH, and many extended family members such as step-children and their families as well as several nephews, nieces, and cousins. 

Visiting hours will be held at Ross Funeral Home on Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 5-7pm.  A graveside service will take place in the spring in Belvidere, Vermont. Donations may be made in John’s memory to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123, The Ross Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
