Jerry Buck Obituary

Jerry Rhea Buck, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and proud veteran, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on August 3, 1943, in Trenton, Missouri, Jerry was the son of the late Richard Buck and Vivian Virdan White Buck.

Jerry’s life was marked by dedication, a strong work ethic, and a vibrant sense of humor. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran who bravely served his country in the Vietnam War.

Following his military service, Jerry embarked on a distinguished 30-year career with the McDonald's Corporation. His commitment and expertise were evident when he rewrote the company’s Operations Manual in 1980 and was honored with the Excellence in Operations Management award for five consecutive years. Later, he channeled his entrepreneurial spirit into owning his own McDonald's franchise in Blasdell, New York. Even in retirement, Jerry's unmatched work ethic shone through as he continued to work for Walmart until the age of 75.

Above all, Jerry cherished his family. He shared 45 years of beautiful marriage with his beloved wife, Patricia Buck. Their bond was a true testament to enduring love, often seen enjoying time with their two cherished Papillion dogs, Maudi and Meilyng. Jerry was a loving father to his children, David K. Buck, Hollie Buck Medeiros, Christina Buck, and Heather Buck. He was a doting grandfather to Aaron Bourassa, Amanda Gemme, Steven Medeiros, Austin Buck, and Jessica Weston, and a proud great-grandfather to Everette Buck and Elowyn Grey Buck. He is also survived by his siblings, Sharon Pickett and Robert Buck, and many nieces and nephews.

Jerry was truly a social butterfly with an enormous sense of humor, always ready with a witty remark or a heartwarming laugh. His unwavering dedication to his family and his admirable work ethic will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Services will held at a later date and will be posted when scheduled. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jerry's memory to the Veterans Affairs. www.cdceportal.va.gov/donate_online/
