Janet Alma (Gould) Burgess

Janet Alma (Gould) Burgess, 82, Littleton, died on Saturday, September 7, 2024, with her family by her side. She was born in Littleton, the daughter of Clarence and Marion (Morris)Gould. She was a graduate of Littleton High School. She married Howard Burgess and raised five children. They eventually parted ways but remained friends. She was a gifted seamstress and loved to sew.  Janet was a home maker. A job that isn’t given the credit it deserves. She cared for own family as well as others. Family was very important, and her happiest times were with them. She was predeceased by her daughter Cheryl J. “Peanut” Presley, July 30, 2012.

Janet is survived by her loving family, her daughters, Eileen Burgess, Goldsboro, NC, Shelley and John MacKay, Bethlehem, Melanie and Michael Alt, Gray, ME, a son Steven and Rebecca Burgess, Gray, ME, Nine Grandchildren: Carrie-Jo Johnson, Kenny MacKay, Kimberly Ineson, Stephanie Thompson, Jillian MacKay, Jimmy Alt, Kyleigh Alt, Joseph Burgess and Elizabeth Burgess, 13 Great Grandchildren, her beloved nephew Chris Gould, his son Alecs and many other nieces and nephews. Her brothers Clarence Gould, AZ, Robert Gould, Littleton, and a special friend of 60 years, Marie Perry.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 14, 11:00, at Glenwood Cemetery. A Celebration of her life will follow at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 793 Main Street, Bethlehem, NH.
