It is with great sadness we announce the passing of James Patrick Walsh, 68, of Lincoln, N.H. After a lengthy period of declining health, Pat passed away at home with his wife by his side. He was a beloved son, brother, husband, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many.

Pat was the son of James Michael Walsh of Lincoln and Marion Tucker Walsh of N. Woodstock, both previously deceased. Pat leaves behind Christine, his wife of 24 years and his son Sven, both of Lincoln along with a stepdaughter Zoey S River of Cuddy, PA. He is also survived by his oldest sister Ann Kelley of Lincoln, his niece Gaylen Kelley of Idaho and nephew Andrew Kelley and wife Morgen of Lincoln; his older brother Michael and wife Marianne of Vermont; and his younger sister Gail and husband Mark of Alaska, along with his sisters-in-law Anneliese, RoseMarie and her husband Robert, brother-in-law Hans and the Richter and Hunsdorfer families in Germany.

Pat was born on November 22, 1957 in Plymouth, N.H. He was raised in Lincoln. Patrick grew up beside Franconia Park on the east branch of the Pemigewasset River where he played outdoors and hung out with all his friends. If he wasn’t hiking and exploring in the woods you could always find him at the local swimming hole, Gravity, doing stand still dives from Big Wall or on his Kawasaki dirt bike exploring the town.

He graduated from Lin-Wood High School in 1975 and immediately joined the US Air Force. He proudly served our country for 23 years as a nuclear weapons specialist and instructor starting in Wyoming then to Memmingen, Germany where he married his wife, Chris in 1979. Pat and Chris traveled back to the U.S. where he was assigned to Lowry AF Base, Colorado then, Pease AF Base, N.H. He was the transferred to FE Warren AF Base, Wyoming then back to Germany. His last assignment was at Kirtland AF Base, New Mexico where he retired in 1998.

After retiring from the Air Force, Patrick returned to Lincoln where he took care of his aging father. Pat picked up various jobs to stay busy such as trucking US mail, making snow at the Kanc Ski Slope, Audley Construction, Clarks Trading Post and helping friends with their projects. In his spare time Pat enjoyed local road trips with friends and his faithful dog, Jimmy and then Mina. Pat also had a great love for reading! He was a big fan of history, astronomy, and the sciences. Pat also had a passion for cooking, making elaborate meals with just the right kinds of ingredients.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday July 10, 2026 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church located at 25 Church Street Lincoln, N.H. followed by Internment at Riverside Cemetery along with military honors.
