Elaine Plante Obituary

Elaine R Plante (Rodger) born February 8, 1945, passed away on October 29, 2025, at home in Littleton NH surrounded by her family. She was born in Whitefield NH to Nellie May Rodger (Vondle) and Herbert Lee Rodger. She was one of twelve siblings. She married Murray R Plante of Bethlehem NH on March 24, 1962, in Whitefield NH. They met when she ran him over with her bicycle. She worked for several years at Henschel Shoes sewing shoe soles by hand. She also babysat many children throughout the years. She worked in Lincoln/Woodstock NH as a chambermaid and would often run the motel when the owners were away on vacation. She worked and retired from Butson Supermarket in Littleton and Woodsville NH in the bakery department before it was purchased by Shaw’s Supermarket. She is predeceased by both of her parents, her husband and several siblings.

She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she loved to bake, knit, crochet and do word search puzzles. She often made knitted baby caps for newborns at Littleton Regional Hospital. Christmas was her favorite time of year; she would ride around Littleton looking at all the decorations and lights. She would have her Christmas tree up the day after thanksgiving until mid-January as well as listening to Christmas music. In her last few years her tree was up year-round.

She is survived by several siblings, her five children Cindy Broome of Pocatello Idaho, Chris Plante and his wife Kim of Stratford NH, Philip Plante of Bristol NH, Margaret Plante of Lyman NH and Timothy Plante and his wife Kristil of Center Conway NH. She is also survived by her eleven grandchildren: Brian, Cheri, Chris, Katelyn, Stephanie, Samuel, Lysander, Tammi, Cory, Connor and Molly. She also has several great-grandkids and nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her great-grandchildren Allie Clement, Rylan Baughman, Connor Plante and Molly Plante.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 10:00 AM, St. Rose Cemetery, Littleton, with Father Ryan Amazeen officiating.
