Donna (Jean) Symonds

It is with heavy heart and deep sorrow we announce the passing of Donna Symonds on September 1 after a period of failing health. For 53 years she was devoted wife of Bill Symonds of Bethlehem

Donna was born on August 10, 1952, in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. She grew up in St. Johnsbury and Keene, NH attending schools in St. Johnsbury and graduating from Keene High School in 1970.

Donna was employed as an LNA in Keene and upon marriage and residing in Bethlehem started an in-home day care center. After she worked as a police and fire dispatcher in Bethlehem. For twenty-one years Donna worked as a salesclerk at Circle K.

Donna enjoyed trips to the beach and Portland, Maine especially “visiting” her mom at Two Lights. She found peace in the quiet of the mountains surrounding Bethlehem.

Donna is survived by her husband Bill, her cousins of St. Johnsbury, Vt; Robert Gilding of Burlington, VT, Victor (Buddy) Gilding of Grafton, MA and Patty Halpin and her husband Phil of Danville, VT, Peggy Remich, FL, Barry Gilding, NC. Additional family includes, Barbara Symonds of Newbury, NH; Mark and Jennifer Symonds of Chesterfield, NH; John Symonds; Tim and Christine Symonds of Keene, and special friend Mary St. Laurent of Surry, NH. Donna is also survived by her sister-in-law Carol (Symonds) Fossum of Goffstown; nieces Kristin Fossum of Goffstown and Caitlin Johnston of Manchester.

Donna was predeceased by her mother Virginia Delworth, her grandparents Ruth and Alphy Barrett and her uncle Victor and aunt Rita Gilding.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, October 8, 11AM to 12:30 PM with a service to follow immediately at Ross Funeral Home, Littleton.
