Barbara Trahan Obituary

Barbara Ann Trahan passed away peacefully November 27, 2025 surrounded by family after a decline in health.  She was born in 1951 in Caliente, Nevada and graduated from Lincoln County High School in 1969.  In 1975, she married Edward Trahan and moved to Whitefield, New Hampshire, and in 1982 they settled on Hilltop Road in Littleton.  She spent many years cooking and in the restaurant business, starting out as a teenager working at Olsen’s Knotty Cafe in Caliente, NV, Weeks Hospital, Littleton High School, Littleton Senior Center, and The Italian Oasis restaurant.

She was a proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary.  She could be found at the American Legion Post 68 helping behind the bar, serving food in the kitchen, or sitting and chatting with members.  She especially enjoyed Christmas shopping with “the girls” getting gifts for the Legion families.  She enjoyed rooting for the Denver Broncos and was an avid Jeff Gordon fan.  She enjoyed traveling to camp on weekends with her husband in Clarksville.

While being a mom to all, she is survived by her sister, Debra Miller of Paulden, Arizona; five children Patrick Trahan of Jacksonville, Florida, Michael Cordle of Littleton, New Hampshire, DeVon (Dawn) Trahan of Fort Myers, Florida, Barry (Diana) Murphy of Whitefield, New Hampshire, and Kristi (Corey) Johnson of Asheboro, North Carolina; nephews James Miller of Paulden, Arizona and Jason (Rebecca) Miller of Soldotna, Alaska; 3 great-nieces, 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, Larry Murphy and Delora Miller, her step-father, Samuel Miller, her brothers, Leland Ginger and Michael Patrick Murphy, and her loving husband of 50 years, Edward Trahan.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Legion Post 68, Littleton NH to support the needs of the club that was so dear to her heart.  There will be a private family service with a celebration of life at a later date.
