Vicki L (Weaver) Weaver-Flynn

WHITEFIELD:

VICKI L. WEAVER-FLYNN, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2019, at Littleton Regional Hospital with friends and family at her side while listening to her husband’s original Irish songs, many of which were written for her.

She was born on January 31, 1951, in Barberton, OH, and graduated from Barberton High School in 1969. She attended Kent State University earning a BS in English in 1973. After graduating she spread her wings and traveled around the U.S., living in Arizona, Florida, California, and eventually landing in Boston where she walked into a pub and met an Irish musician who would later become her husband. They joyfully welcomed their daughter Sarah in 1987 and moved to East Concord, VT.  She earned her Master’s Degree as a Reading Specialist/Coordinator at Lyndon State College while working as Director of Learning Assistance at the prestigious White Mountain School in Bethlehem, NH. In 1996 she started her career as a high school English Teacher at Concord School in Concord, VT where she remained until her retirement. She was very highly respected and dearly loved by her students, peers, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Robert V. Weaver, mother Edna Weaver, sister Kay Spencer Fassnacht and her beloved daughter Sarah Verena Flynn.

She is survived by her husband Eamon Flynn and many extended family and friends in Ireland and the U.S.,  her sister Virginia (Richard) Karson, nephew Robert Karson, niece Denise (Joel) Hauenstein, nephew Shaun (Mary) Spencer, great-nephews Bryson and Gryffin Hauenstein, and Justin and Joshua Spencer. Friends are finding a loving home for her beloved cats Chance and Chase.

Per her wishes, she will be cremated and her ashes will be taken to her husband in Ireland where she will spend eternity with her daughter and, eventually, her husband.

Many thanks to her friends Sylvie Gagne Locke, Laura-lynn Carpenter and Joy Smith for staying with her and being so helpful throughout this process. Thank you to Denise Hauenstein and Siobhan Clayton for also being at her side. Gratitude to Dr. Lawson and the staff at Littleton Regional Medical Center for their care. A Celebration of Life will take place on January 25, 2-4 PM at the Concord School, Concord, VT. If you wish to make a dedication in her memory, please send a donation to the animal shelter of your choosing.
