Marilyn Louise Williams, 79, Franconia, died peacefully on Good Friday, April 19, 2019, surrounded by family. She was born on February 23, 1940, in Boston, MA to Harold and Frances (Coakley) Fitzgerald. She and her siblings were raised in the greater Boston area and attended primary and secondary parochial schools. She married Brian Williams on May 7, 1960, at Fort Devens, in Ayer, MA. Together the couple raised three daughters.
Marilyn spent most of her life as a devoted wife and mother; however, she did work for a time at the John Hancock Ins. Co. She volunteered often at her children’s elementary schools, at the Mercersburg Library, and locally at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church religious education program. The family lived in Andover, MA, Annapolis, MD, Mercersburg, PA and in retirement moved to Franconia, NH. She was a Hallmark Movie enthusiast, she loved a good cup of tea, and enjoyed her many shelties over the years. She loved to travel and took several memorable trips to Japan, Europe, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. Above all else, Marilyn loved being a mother and grandmother.
Marilyn is survived by her husband Brian Williams, three daughters, Dawn Williams and her husband Jeff Potter, Kory Williams and her husband Mike Brittingham, and Maia Bennett and her husband Robert, two grandchildren (Duncan and Lily Potter), a brother Harold “Fitzi” Fitzgerald, and two sisters Joan Hathaway, and Donna Kelly.
