Kelly Crafton Obituary

Kelly F. Crafton, age 62, passed on from us at his home in Bethlehem, NH on August 27, 2018. Mother, Mary Ann Crafton, and Father, Ronald Warren Crafton, welcomed him into this world on April 7th 1956 in Burley, Idaho. He grew up in Oakley, Idaho as the next to youngest of his siblings, Kae, Bryan, and Brenda.

Kelly was an avid player of football, playing for 4 years of his life. He also did two years of varsity track and field. He remained a huge fan of football and followed the Patriots and Seahawks almost religiously. After his time in college he joined the military and quickly took to the lifestyle and moved up the ranks. Earning the rank of Staff Sergeant and training cadets in marksmanship, and on the grenade range as a Drill Sergeant. He became well traveled in the service. Going to Germany, Hawaii, Philippines and many more places. He brought these experiences into his new life in Jefferson, NH upon his 20 year retirement from the Army in 1997. Along with his honorable discharge he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal.

Kelly was also very fond of fishing the lakes and ponds of northern New Hampshire. His regular spot being the rickety dock on Forest Lake, where he would often bring along his sons. In retirement he wore many hats in his life, custodial work within the school system, Postmaster, finally settling into his role as Front Desk Agent at the Omni Mount Washington Hotel. He gave 18 years of service to the company, meeting people, and making friends from all over the world. He really loved the work that he got to do at this establishment.

He is survived by his two sons Matthew Crafton of Littleton NH, and Cameron Crafton of Blue Mound, TX, mother Mary Ann Crafton of West Jordan, UT, brother Bryan Crafton and his wife Leslie of Rupert, ID, two sisters Kae Dougherty and husband Dennis of Tallahassee FL, and Brenda Shelton and her husband James of West Jordan UT, the mother of his sons Suzanne Crafton of Jefferson NH, and many nieces and nephews.
