Edward "Eddie" W. Perry Sr.

August 30, 1941 ~ October 25, 2017 (age 76) 76 Years Old

Edward “Eddie” Wright Perry Sr. 76, Lyman, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, October 25, 2017. He passed peacefully at his home with his wife of 47 years, Kathy, by his side. Eddie was born in Cohasset, MA on August 30, 1941. He was the only child of Sydney and Grace (Pratt) Perry. He graduated from East Bridgewater (MA) High School, where he loved to play on the football team. After high school Eddie married and had two children. As a youth he loved playing ice hockey with his friends on local ponds. Years later he learned to dance on ice with his wife, Kathy. They were members of the Silver Blades Figure Skating Club. Eddie worked at a variety of occupation over the years, including, foundry work, truck driver as a member of the teamsters, rigger, flooring installer, sculptor, and art gallery owner.

Eddie Married Kathy Thomas of Scituate, MA in 1970. Three years later the couple moved to West Palm Beach FL where Eddie began his career in flooring installation and was a partner in the CTI Tile Company in West Palm Beach, FL. Eddie began creating sculptures at this time and soon was exhibiting in local galleries. In 1986 Eddie and Kathy opened an art gallery in Palm Beach. This was a wonderful personal and professional achievement. Eddie was a member of the First Baptist Church of West Palm Beach and began making wood ornaments to give out to the audience during the “Singing Christmas Tree” performances. Creating these ornaments was the beginning of his love of wood working that stayed with him for the rest of his life. He suffered a back injury which left him progressively more disabled over the years and working with his hands cutting wood was special and much needed outlet for his creative talents. A few days before his passing Eddie was in his studio creating ornaments and wall plates for Kathy to sell at craft fairs. Eddie and Kathy moved to Lyman in 2005 after spending summers in the White Mountains and falling in with love the area. Eddie’s faith was very important to him and he was a member of the Crossroads Church in Littleton. Eddie also loved to watch figure skating, football, NASCAR racing and especially golf on TV.

Eddie is survived by his wife, Kathy Perry of Lyman, his two children, Norma Jean Begley Saba of East Bridgewater, MA, and Edward W. Perry Jr. of Chestnut Hill, MA, five grandchildren, David Begley, Joshua Begley, Matthew Begley, Nicholas Perry, and Brittni Perry, all of MA, and his constant canine companion, Zeva.
