Winona J (Lewis) Brisson

Winona Josephine (Lewis) Brisson, 94, died quietly on April 16, 2015, with her family at her side at the Morrison Nursing Home in Whitefield. She was born in Lancaster, NH, in 1920, the daughter of Walter A. and Esther (LaMott) Lewis.

As a young girl, Nona lived in many villages in the local region graduating from Dow Academy in Franconia in 1938. She resided in Whitefield for more than 50 years. Nona spent her lifetime dedicated to raising her five children. She worked at the Whitefield Steam Laundry, at the Whitefield School cafeteria, and the Manchester Knitted Fashions factory on Brown Street where she lived. She retired from Manchester Knitted Fashions in 1978. She was a long-time member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Whitefield and an active member of the UMW. She enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, playing cards, knitting and crocheting, with her ultimate enjoyment being her family.

She is survived by five of her children: Audrey Stovall and her husband, Clark of Keystone Heights, FL; Roger Ingerson and his wife, Patricia, of Pembroke, NH; Shirley St Cyr, and her husband Joseph, of Keystone Heights, FL; Alan Ingerson and his wife, Marna, of Maidstone, VT; and Peter Brisson, and his fiancé, Cathy of Manchester, NH. A sister, Hazel Carpenter, of Claremont, NH. Additionally, she is survived by 17 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her parents, her sisters Velma, Reymore, Celina, and brother, Edward; her husbands, Robert Ingerson and Gerald Brisson, and one son, Norwood.

Visiting hours will be Friday, April 24, 6:00-8:00 PM, at the Ross Funeral Home, 69 Lancaster Rd in Whitefield. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 25th, at 11 AM at the Whitefield Trinity United Methodist Church, at 18 Lancaster Rd.
