Velma Elizabeth (Cassady) Lucas, 83 of Littleton NH passed away September 3rd 2017. She was born in Monroe, NH on September 18th, 1933 to Arthur and Amanda Cassady. She married the love of her life Omar "Blackie" Lucas on October 23rd 1953.
Velma was a house wife until her children went to school. She went on to work at the Burndy Corp. for 20 years before retiring. Velma loved her family and friends she enjoyed keeping a clean house, camping, and traveling. She also enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox play with her husband and spending time with her grand children.
Velma is survived by her son Russell E Lucas (Jan), four daughters Deborah Doucette, Karen Garrett (Daniel), Connie Wilson (Robert), Heidi Moccia (Paul), two brothers Michael Cassady (Bernice), and Lewis Cassady (Colleen), two sisters Norma Gilman, and Linda Macgowan (Jon), seven grandchildren and eight Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceaced by her husband Omar W Lucas Jr, parents Arthur and Amanda Cassady, five sisters Marie Cassady, Louise Cassady, Ella Clough, Pauline Ingraham, Audrey Bogie, three brothers Roger Cassady, Allen Cassady, Arthur Cassady.
A celebration of Velma’s life will be held at Ross Funeral Home, 282 West Main St. Littleton at Noon on Saturday September 23, 2017. A committal service for Velma and Omar will follow at Glenwood Cemetery.
