Ruth E Swan of Waterford, VT, 82, passed away on June 27 at the Grafton County Nursing Home.
She was born in 1933 to John Elliott Sr. and Mildred (Ball) Elliott in Benton NH.
She was graduated from Haverhill Academy. In 1952 she married her high school sweetheart, George Swan and was happily married for over 60 years.
She was employed by several area banks as teller and assistant treasurer and retired as the book keeper at the Rabbit Hill Inn in Waterford, VT.
She enjoyed painting landscapes, cooking for her family, bird-watching and gardening.
She is survived by her son Thomas and wife Karen of Carver, MA; grandson Greg and wife Julie of Whitman, MA; grandson Timothy and wife Heather of Portland Or; granddaughter Kara of Carver, MA; and two great grandchildren, Benjamin and Hannah.
She leaves behind brothers John Elliott Jr; James Elliott and wife Margret all of Benton; sisters Betty Sawyer, Jeanette Brown and husband Nowell all of Bath; sister Norma Toussaint of Rollingsford NH, and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to The Catholic Charities, 41 Cottage St. Littleton, NH 03561. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 77 Clay St. Littleton, NH on Thursday July 7, 2016 at 10AM. Interment will follow at Ladd St. Cemetery in Haverhill, NH.
