Ronald F. Brown “Ron”, 75 of Twin Mountain died Monday June 27, 2016 at his home. He was born in 1941 in Somerville, MA to Merton F. Brown and Elizabeth F. (Raymond) Brown. Ron married Claudette R. Daigle on November 17, 1962 in Edmonston, NB Canada. Ron and Claudette celebrated 53 years of marriage this past November. He graduated from Milford High School, Class of 1959.

 

Ron was in the United States Air Force for 21 years. He spent 10 years in Military Police having served overseas in Guam and Korea. He spent his last 11 years as a recruiter working out of the Boston office. He retired as a Master Sergeant in October of 1980. In October of 1980 he started as the Executive Director for the New Hampshire Campground Owner’s Association. He worked tirelessly promoting camping in the State of New Hampshire. He retired in August of 2007. Ron was stationed on Guam, in Spokane WA, and in Massachusetts then settled in Nashua, NH for 15 years. When Ron began working for the camping industry he and Claudette relocated their family to Twin Mountain for the last 30 years. He and his wife Claudette have wintered in Gulf Shores, AL for the last 7 years. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus for many years in NH and Alabama and was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Whitefield. Ron and Claudette were avid campers for all of their married life. Ron was an active member of the New Hampshire Republican Party for many years.

 

Ron was known for his sense of humor and giving spirit. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone and remained active after his retirement. Ron loved his “bride” with all his heart and was extremely proud of his two daughters and their husbands. He made sure he and Claudette were there for the births of all 8 of their grandchildren who he loved dearly and visited as often as possible. He took pride in their accomplishments and always made an effort to attend their important events whenever possible.

 

 

He is survived by his wife, Claudette R. (Daigle) Brown of Twin Mountain, children, Cheryl Ann and her husband Eric J. Roode of Roslyn, PA and Tracy Ellen and her husband Lance J. Placey of Derry, NH, eight grandchildren Rachel Placey, Gwendolyn Roode, Troy Placey, Susanna Roode, Alex Placey, Ryan Placey, Gregory Roode and Drew Placey, a brother, Richard Brown of Illinois, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, two sisters Elizabeth Kelley in 2010, Lois Peters in 2001, and a brother, Merton Brown in 2005.

 

 

Visiting Hours will be Thursday June 30, at Ross Funeral Home, Whitefield Chapel, 69 Lancaster Rd, Whitefield, NH 03598 from 5-7PM. Fr. Matthew Mason will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 9 Jefferson St, Whitefield on Friday July 1, at 9AM. Internment with military honors will follow at the New Hampshire State Veteran’s Cemetery.
