Robert R Trahan

August 1, 1940 ~ August 26, 2015 (age 75) 75 Years Old

Robert R.Trahan “Bob”, passed away August 26, 2015 at the Littleton Regional Healthcare after a debilitating lung disorder surrounded by his family and love ones. He was born August 1, 1940 in Littleton, NH the first child of Arthur David Trahan and Jeanette (Longchamp) Trahan. He attended the St. Rose of Lima Catholic School for 8 years and then went on to Littleton High School and graduated in 1959.

He went on to begin his life’s career in the art of Master Carpentetry. He became co-founder of Trahan Construction, with his dad, Arthur. He worked as a carpentry foreman for over 35 years. He went on to work for many businesses which included Tuite Associates, Littleton,NH, Varney-Smith Lumber Co., Lisbon,NH, Harr Co, St. Johnsbury,VT, and for his brother Rodney at Arrow Express, Littleton, NH. Bob’s Motto was “Work all you can!” and he did just that! He married Anita (Boulanger) Trahan in 1965. They had one child a daughter, Patricia Trahan Gilbert.

 

He is preceded in death by his father Arthur Trahan in 1983 and by his wife Anita in 2004. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, Littleton, NH Bob joined the Knights of Columbus in 1971 and was the Grand Knight for 3 years. He enjoyed many hobbies such as wood turning, fishing, and hunting. He belonged to the Guild of NH Wood Workers, and the Granite State Wood Workers.

In 2006 he married Amorosa (Amy) Bockman. Bob and Amy traveled to many places in Europe and the US.  Bob loved to take pictures and show them off when he came back home.

 

He is survived by his wife Amy of Littleton, NH, his daughter and husband Patricia and Jerry Gilbert, Littleton, his mother Jeanette Trahan of Lafayette Center Franconia, NH, his sister, Janice and husband John Brick of Galveston, TX, brothers Dick and wife Bonnie Trahan of Littleton, NH and Rodney and wife Donna Trahan, Littleton, NH Stepchildren, Shannon, Heather, and Glen Smith. Many nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved. Also very close friends that will sorely miss him.

 

Visiting hours will be Monday August 31, 2015 from 6-8PM at Ross Funeral Home, Littleton Chapel, 282 West Main St. Littleton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 11AM. Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery.
