Welcome to the memorial page for

Matthew Neville

September 20, 2015

On Sunday September 20, 2015 Matthew Allan Neville died at home in Twin Mountain, NH of Cardiac Arrest. Matt was born in 1965 in Wilmington, Delaware to David Cushing Neville and Jill Dorothy Coldwell Neville. He graduated from Hopkinton High School in 1983 and was a vibrant member of the University of New Hampshire’s class of 1987, graduating with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Business.

Matt was equally gifted with his hands and mind. A voracious reader, he encouraged those around him to think about the world and the way it worked and would share his literary interest given an opportunity. During his life he put his gifts and education to work in general construction. His early career focused on ceramic tile and kitchen cabinetry installation. His attention to detail and organizational skills led him to further his career as foreman and supervisor for a bridge construction company and later as a self-employed building contractor focused on restoration, both residential and commercial. When Matt moved to the NH North Country, he became part of the family while working at Carlson’s Lodge in Twin Mountain using his skills to improve and maintain the business. He developed a lasting relationship with three generations of the Carlson family and could always be counted on for a helping hand, comfort, conversation and a smile. Most recently Matt was employed as the Chief Engineer for the Hampton Inn in Littleton, NH, and his presence there had a positive and lasting effect. If you live in NH, it is very likely that you have driven over a bridge that Matt made sure was built as the engineers had designed. In NH and beyond, his work will live on in the projects, big and small, that he put his talent and amazing work ethic toward.

Matt appreciated and thrived in the outdoors. He loved skiing, fishing, and hiking and took great pride in his vegetable gardening as well as in his fine woodworking.

Matt is survived by his son Christopher, Mother Jill, Father David, two older brothers, Daniel and his companion Linda and Timothy and his wife Pamela. He is also survived by his ex-wife Lisa Belliveau, his long-time companion Joy Rennell, best friends Rich Easton and Christopher “Buck” Ruccio, niece Alisa Barnard, nephews Jason Neville, Ben Herrin, Carter Neville, aunts, uncles, cousins and many loving friends who cared for him deeply.
