Margaret Crapo, 100, Whitefield, NH died on Sunday May 15, 2016 at the Morrison Nursing Home, after a period of declining health. She was born in Jefferson, NH on January 12, 1916 to John and Ethera (Greenwood) Jordan. She lived her entire life in Whitefield. Margaret attended Whitefield public schools and went on to marry Russell Crapo. Together the couple raised their seven children and a granddaughter, Lisa Leonard, all the while working at the Manchester Knitting Co. and the Mellin Quincy Chair Factory as well has being a devoted wife and mother. Margaret enjoyed crocheting and crossword puzzles and collecting anything to do with elephants. She loved all her kids and grandkids and enjoyed their company when they visited.
Margaret is survived by four children, Harold Crapo of New Bedford, MA, Robert Crapo of Lancaster, Bonnie Pineo of Lisbon, and Dixie Poulin of Dalton, a brother Leo Jordan of Littleton, three sisters Annie Bisson of Whitefield, Helen Pinard of Whitefield, and Norma Wiggins of Hookset, 21 grand-children, 9 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Russell Crapo, a brother Buddy Jordan, two sons, Arnold Crapo, and Joseph Crapo, and a daughter Patricia Darling.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday May 18, 2016 at 10AM at St. Matthew's Catholic Church 9 Jefferson Rd. Whitefield, NH. Internment will follow at St. Matthew's Cemetery.
