Letitia Pearre Burwell (Teka), daughter of Sifford and Angelica Pearre of Baltimore, died on April 20 at her home in Franconia, NH. She was 84. She is survived by her husband Richard and six children: Anthony Burwell of Los Angeles; Christopher Burwell of Concord, NH; Angelica Burwell of Lunenburg, NS; Miranda Burwell Young of Franconia, NH; Mercy Burwell Colberg of Arnold, MO; and Rebecca Burwell of Northampton, MA; and ten grandchildren.
Teka earned a B.A. from Bryn Mawr and was an avid traveler. She worked on an archeological dig in Jordan before meeting her future husband on vacation in Haiti. Her love of family was paramount in her life. She had a passionate talent for renovating houses. She especially loved sailing in the waters of Mahone Bay, which she first visited when she was eight years old, and she treasured the life in the North Country of the White Mountains.
