Janet (McVie) Doyle

Janet Eleanor Doyle (McVie), 71 of Lisbon passed away on Friday, April 13th at home with her family at her side. She was born June 21, 1946 in Boston, Massachusetts, she was the first of four daughters of Robert L. McVie and Eleanor M. (Fisher) McVie of Swampscott, Massachusetts.

Janet graduated from Swampscott High School in 1964 and went on to Salem State College where she received her bachelor degree in Education in 1969. Janet met her husband Bill while at college, and the two of them were married on August 24th, 1969. Janet and Bill moved north and both accepted teaching positions at Lisbon Regional School that year. Jan taught elementary children in Lisbon from kindergarten to sixth grade for 33 years. After residing for a brief time in Littleton, they moved into their home in Lisbon, where they have spent most of their lives. She loved reading, summers at the camps in Alton Bay, and visits to the beach.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, William “Bill” Francis Doyle, her son Jason William Doyle and his wife Tara Lynn Doyle, her son Jeremy Robert Doyle, six grandchildren: Tyler, Daniel, Emma, Lia, Nora, and Anna, her three sisters and their husbands: Susan & Frank McGinty, Gale & Ron Stahley, Nina & Jay Jennings and many loving nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, May 2nd from 6pm until 8pm at Ross Funeral Home, 282 West Main Street, Littleton, NH 03585, and a Graveside ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 3rd at 11am at Grove Hill Cemetary in Lisbon, NH.
