Gertrude “Trudy” (Suitor) Matott, 90, Whitefield, died Sunday August 20, 2017 at Littleton Regional Healthcare with family at her side. She was born in Lancaster, NH January 1, 1927 to Floyd and Annie (Prue) Suitor. She attended Whitefield public schools and graduated with the class of 1945 from Whitefield High School.
Trudy married Nelson “Bud” Matott on September 23, 1946. The couple made their home in Whitefield where she raised her family and worked as a stitcher at MKF Manufacturing. She enjoyed camping at Breezy Meadow Campground, sewing for her family as well as for others, many of whom became dear friends. Trudy also enjoyed crocheting, pampering her pets, and delivering for Meals on Wheels. Many miles and hours were enjoyed walking at the airport in Whitefield with Bud. Trudy was a communicant at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church and her faith was the most important thing in her life.
Trudy is predeceased by her parents, her husband, Nelson “Bud” Matott, two infant children Mary and Michael, an adult son Francis, and her brother Dan Suitor. She is survived by her children, Theresa Savage and her husband Bob, of Black Canyon City, AZ, James Matott, and his wife Anita, of Lancaster, NH, Jeannne Whitcomb of Temple, NH, Mark Matott, of Harrisville, RI, Larry Matott, and his wife Lorrie, of Henniker, NH, Margaret White, and her husband Michael, of Dansville, NY, Raymond Matott, and his wife Lenya of Chichester, NH, and Patrick Matott, and his wife Emily of Frankin, NH, 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grand Children, 4 great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many close friends.
Visiting Hours with be Wednesday August 23, 2017 from 6-8PM at Ross Funeral Home, Whitefield Chapel, 69 Lancaster Rd. Fr. Matt Mason will celebrate at Mass of Christian Burial at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 9 Jefferson Rd, Whitefield, NH on Thursday August 24, 2017 at Noon.
