Geneva Duval

Mount Sacred Heart, Littleton, NH -- Sister Geneva Duval ( Sr. Jane Frances ) passed away at Holy Cross Health Center in Manchester, NH , on Thursday, August  13, 2015. Sister was born in Richford  VT, on November14, 1921, to Basil Duval and Mabel Jane (Donlon) Duval. She entered the Congregation of the Daughters of the Charity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Sherbrooke, Quebec in 1938 and professed her vows on August 21, 1940.

Her primary missions were teaching in Champlain and Morrisonville, NY (school administration), Newport, VT and Colebrook, NH, bookkeeping and secretarial in Derby Line, Burlington,  Newport, VT, and Littleton, NH.   Sr. Geneva retired at  Mount Sacred Heart, Littleton  NH in 1997 then, to HCHC  in 2014.   Sister Geneva is survived by her nieces :  Norma Yandow, Cecile (John) Deblois and  Jane Frances (Paul) Maxwell, nephews:   Douglas, Martin, Jim, Ken Jr. and Dennis Duval.  She was predeceased by  her parents and 6 brothers:  Archibald, Norman, Elmer, Francis, Kenneth, and Remi.

Sr. Geneva loved her religious community and was very dedicated to her various ministries. Her eyes had a special sparkle when she spoke of her family; she will be remembered and missed by all.

Prayer at Mount Sacred Heart chapel on Sunday 8/ 16 at 4:00 p m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. onMonday, August 17, 2015, at Mount Sacred Heart Chapel. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. in St. Mary Cemetery in Newport, VT.
