Gary Lee Whitcomb, 76, passed away at his home in Twin Mountain on April 10, 2015. Gary was born in Whitefield, NH to Fred and Loria (Perry) Whitcomb. He grew up and went to school in Bethlehem. He married Jean Roy of Bethlehem and they lived in Twin Mountain with their children Loria and Julia. Gary worked at Franconia Notch State Park for many years, ending his career there as Manager of the park. Gary was proud to serve his community and was the Fire Chief for the Town of Carroll for 26 years, establishing the first rescue squad ambulance service there. In his retirement Gary continued his community service by grooming snowmobile trails. Gary enjoyed many activities with his family including hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, camping and NASCAR racing.

Gary is predeased by his parents and his brother Fred C. Whitcomb. He is survived by his wife, Jean, his daughters Loria Ryan and Julia Whitcomb, his grandchildren Nicholas Whitcomb and wife Taber, Shane Ryan and finance Nikki Brannon, Lindsey Ryan and Abigail Whitcomb. He is also survived by three great grandchildren who were the apple of his eye, Blake Whitcomb, Ella Whitcomb and Kash Ryan; three brothers, Jon Whitcomb and his wife Linda, Michael Whitcomb and Daniel Whitcomb and his wife Maria. Gary also has numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Donations in lieu of flowers to North Country Home Health and Hospice, 536 Cottage St. Littleton, NH 03561. Visiting Hours will be Monday April 13, 2015 at Ross Funeral Home, Whitefield Chapel, 69 Lancaster Rd. Whitefield, NH 03598. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday April 14, at 11AM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Twin Mountain. Interment will take place later this spring at Maple St. Cemetery in Bethlehem, NH.
