Flora A. “Jo” Jordan, 97, of Twin Mountain passed away March 13th at the VA Medical Center in White River Junction, VT.
Flora was born in 1920 in Northumberland, daughter of Bradley and Mary (Hanning) Jordan. She attended school in Twin Mountain and was an Army veteran of World War II, where she received her nurses training. After discharge from the service, Flora continued her nursing career in addition to opening up “Jo’s Snack Bar” in 1947, which she owned and operated for 40 years. Flora was a life-long resident of Twin Mountain. She loved the outdoors, reading, and spending time with family and friends. In later years, she received much pleasure in telling stories of visits she received from past patrons who had frequented her snack bar, sharing fond memories of their love for her hamburgers, hotdogs, french fries, and onion rings!
Flora is survived by her Sister-In-Law, Olga “Gay” Jordan of Northbridge MA (formerly of Twin Mountain), niece Pamela Jordan of Millbury MA, great nieces/nephew Christin and Lauren Schoettle of Savannah GA, and Alex Corey of Asheville NC.
Flora is predeceased by her brother Maurice “Bud” Jordan who died in 1996; nephew Kenneth Jordan who died in 1967; nephew Steven Jordan who died in 2008.
Flora will be interred privately in the spring in the family plot at St. Margaret’s Cemetery in Twin Mountain. Those who wish may make donations in memory of Flora Jordan to, Twin Mountain Fire Auxiliary, c/o Jeremy Oleson, PO Box 119, Twin Mountain, NH 03595
The family would like to thank all the friends and neighbors of Twin Mountain and surrounding towns for their thoughtfulness and support over the years. Flora would not have reached this stage of her life without the time all of you unselfishly devoted when she needed it the most.
