Earl J Ellingwood

Earl J. Ellingwood, 78, Littleton, died Monday, February 10, 2015; at Littleton Regional Healthcare. He was born in Littleton, NH in 1936 to Daniel M and Dorothy (Smith) Ellingwood.

 

Earl attended local schools. He was a talented baseball player. He played for various town baseball teams after high school and was scouted by the Detroit Tigers as south paw pitcher. He enjoyed bowling and was a member of a league in Lancaster for many years. He was a lifetime member of the Elks. He lived in Jefferson for years and served on several town boards there. He served the Town of Littleton on the planing board, zoning board, and budget committee. He also served as a member of the Select-board from 1988 to 1996. Earl was a gentle, quiet man, who appreciated family, friends, and the many years he spent at Partridge Lake.

 

He is survived by his wife, Edna (Judkins) Ellingwood, a son, Jay D. Ellingwood, Leominster, MA, a daughter, Aaran Ellingwood Cunningham and her husband Robert, of Gardner, MA, five grandchildern, Robert Sears, Dustin Seppala, Amber Seppala, Shane Ellingwood, and Tiffany Cunningham, and a brother, William Ellingwood of Littleton. He is predeaceased by his parents and a brother O. Dan Ellingwood.

 

Visiting hours were held at Ross Funeral Home, Littleton, on Saturday, February 14, 2015 from 6-8 PM. There be a memorial service on Thursday, February, 19, 2015 at 11AM at the First United Methodist Church of Littleton, Main St. Littleton, NH.  A committal service will be held at the Glenwood Cemetery on Saturday May 28, 2016 at 2PM  Those who wish may make donations in Earl's memory to All Saints Episcopal Church Food Pantry, 35 School St. Littleton, NH 03561.
