Dorothy E (Carpinetti) Corey

March 9, 1932 ~ August 7, 2016 (age 84) 84 Years Old

Dorothy Elaine Corey Carpinetti, 84, of Sugar Hill passed away peacefully, surrounded by the people who loved her the most, on Sunday, August 7, at the Lafayette Center in Franconia. Dorothy was born to Sidney and Florence (Bray) Corey in Holliston, Massachusetts in 1932. The second of five children, Dorothy was the oldest sister, with one older brother, Sidney, and three younger sisters, Barbara, Rose Marie, and Oleva.

After graduating as the Valedictorian of Holliston High School’s class of 1950, Dorothy went to work at Telecron, in Ashland, MA. She met, and subsequently married Samuel R. Carpinetti, of Worcester, MA in 1955. Dorothy gave birth to three children; Richard Samuel in 1956, Danny in 1957, and Cindy Ann in 1960. The family resided in Holliston, MA until 1986.

Dorothy eventually moved to North Carolina to help raise her only grandchild, Joseph Charles Carpinetti. Joe was her pride and joy, Dorothy flourished as much in the role of gramma, as she did as a mom, although she was much more than gramma to Joe. Dorothy and Joe had a very special and unique bond that lasted until Dorothy’s death. When Joe graduated from high school, Dorothy moved to Franconia to help Cindy run her business, Abel’s Candy Store, in North Woodstock, and also Little Critters Pet Store in Littleton, NH.

Dorothy positively influenced many, many people throughout her long and productive life. She cherished her role as mom, and gramma above anything else. Dorothy was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and grandmother. She was loved and respected by everyone that knew her. Dorothy dedicated her life to her family, and never stopped loving and helping them.

Dorothy is survived by her three children, Ricky Carpinetti of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Danny Carpinetti of Mooresville, North Carolina, and Cindy Carpinetti of Sugar Hill, New Hampshire, her grandson Joseph Carpinetti of Mooresville, North Carolina, as well as two of her siblings, Barbara Gilman from Ashland, Massachusetts, and Rose Marie DeCesare of Westborough, Massachusetts, twelve nieces and nephews, five dogs (Skye, Taco, Zoe, Ethel, and Little Joe), and two parrots (Cooper and CJ).

Dorothy was preceded in death by two of her siblings, Sidney Corey, and Oleva Picard. Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
