Antoinette D (Spano) Gleason

Antoinette D. Gleason, 77, of Farmington, NH, died unexpectedly on Friday, July 3, 2015 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NH. She was born in New York, NY in 1938, a daughter of Samuel and Marie Antoinette (Settani) Spano. Ann was employed as an LNA for many years before retiring from that position. She had a compassionate heart and loved caring for her patients, often sharing stories with her family about her work.

 

She married the love of her life, Joseph M. Gleason, Sr., in New York, NY on November 11, 1956 and together they raised their three children in many places both nationally and internationally as Joe was transferred by the United States Navy from one location to another over the years. She was a communicant of St. Micheal’s Anglican Church in Rochester, NH as well as a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 816 and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking and sewing for her family, but most especially spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 

Ann was predeceased by her parents, brothers Joe, Bill, Sam and Peter Spano, a sister, Francie Schwarz, husband, Joseph M. Gleason, Sr. and their daughter, JoAnn Gleason. She will be dearly missed as a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her daughter Kathleen and her husband Clayton Lewis of Farmington, NH, son Joseph Gleason, Jr. and his wife Charlene of Weare, NH; grandchildren Jessica Wagner and her husband Michael, Jillian Johnson and her husband Ryan, Aric, Alyssa and Ian Gleason; great grandchildren Jacob and Kelly Wagner; brothers John Spano of NY and Nick Spano of FL; sisters Jennie Komlos of TN, Mary Dale of NY, Lily Saccente of NY and several nieces and nephews. Lastly, by her cat, Miss Pearl, who now resides with Jessica and her family.

 

Those who wish may make donations in Ann’s memory to the Cancer Treatment Center at Frisbie Memorial Hospital, 11 Whitehall Rd., Rochester, NH 03867. There will be a friends and family gathering at St. Micheal’s Anglican Church, 21 Charles St., Rochester, NH Friday evening, July 10, from 6-8. Memorial service at St. Micheal’s Saturday morning, July 11, at 10 with burial taking place at Maple St. Cemetery in Bethlehem, NH at 2 p.m.
